Title: 4 Medical Collectors ( For Facilities)

Summary:

The Billing Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff processes to meet team and department goals and for promoting customer satisfaction, both internal and external. The Supervisor will carry out their responsibilities in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including administration metrics related to productivity and quality. Also oversees workflow, training, and verifying the accuracy of their teams work. The position provides operational guidance and counseling on routine issues to ensure that the daily work of the team is completed accurately and on time, under the direction of the Manager. This position is in a computer based billing/reimbursement environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • High school Diploma or GED 
  • 3 years of experience in a medical billing environment and 1 year of supervisory experience 
  • 10 key by touch and functional in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Expertise in billing/reimbursement requirements for government and insurance carriers
  • Import all charges for QMS/Medman, Month end processes/reports in QMS/Medman
  • Invoices facilities for acute services

Title: 3 Reimbursement Representatives

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews EOB/EOMB’s for proper reimbursement
  • Resolves electronic claim rejections and EOB denials in a timely manner
  • Follows up on unpaid/unresolved account balances, including claims rejected electronically, EOB denial and working A/R aging reports as directed. Provides insurance carriers with requested information to facilitate payment
  • Regularly contacts Medicare, Medicaid and /or Commercial payors for resolution to claims not paid or claims not paid according to plan benefits
  • Performs claim appeals as required
  • Assists with credit balance resolution
  • Completes re-bill request as necessary to facilitate timely and proper claims payment
  • Follows up on resolved account balances including RTP’s
  • Prepares adjustment and write-off requests as necessary

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years healthcare/medical collections required
  • Base knowledge of medical technology, ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS codes with basic charge and payment posting systems preferred

The business function is assisting healthcare providers in managing their third party insurance accounts receivable. The primary clients are large hospitals and healthcare systems with multiple haspitals as memebers. These medical claim representatives will be working with commerical insurance, Managed Care, Blue Cross, Medicare, Medicaid and Workers Compensation payors.

One full year of working with medical claims in the same environment  is required! Responsible for making outbound telephone calls on outstanding medical insurance claims for our clients.  We require all claims representatives to work a minimum of 60 claims per day with a 5% Error Ratio or less.  Claim Representative must have the availability to work 8:00 (a.m.) to 6:30 (p.m.) shift from all time zones across the United States (Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific Standard Time Zones).


This is not a position for someone that does not like the phones
. They will spend 4 to 6 hours per day on the phone, making outbound calls..

  • Responsible for calling commerical insurance, Managed Care, Blue Cross, Medicare, Medicaid and Workers Compensation payors for status of medical claims.

  • Responsible for calling patients, guarantors, and/or employers for any additional  information necessary to complete the claim.

  • Must complete a minimum of sixty (60) worked claims per day with an error ratio percentage below five (5%) percent.

  • Document all account information into hospital’s health information system

  • Maintain a minimum of 4-6 hours daily on the phone.

Requirements

 

1.       1 full year of working medical claims in the same environment 
2.       Type 45wpm minimum

3.       Ten key by touch. 8500ksp minimum required.

4.       Customer Service experience

5.       Work 40 hours per week during assigned facility hours
