Dynamic Global Staffing is currently seeking a Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Dallas area.
This position will be to work in a 24x7x365 NOC environment. The opportunity has an initial contract duration of 6-9 months.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Network Engineer will be working in a Network Operations Center environment in support of enterprise customer IP Networks
Primary responsibilities will include providing Tier 1/Tier 2 implementation, configuration and maintenance support for LAN/WAN networking technologies. This role will include monitoring network alarms and responding to issues as well as escalating complex problems to the Tier 2-3 staff. Candidates will gain the opportunity to work with advanced WAN Protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Cisco Routers/Cisco Switches.
Candidates will be utilizing HP Openview and CiscoWorks to monitor alarms in the customer s network and respond with appropriate escalations. Prior experience using these, or similar tools, is highly preferred. In addition, ticketing systems such as Remedy or Peregrine would be a plus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Minimum 2 year college/Associates degree in a technology related field is REQUIRED
- Minimum of 1-2 years hands on experience in a Cisco network-related role.
- Strong LAN/WAN Networking
- Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF Protocols
- Experience configuring and supporting Cisco Routers
- HP Openview and/or CiscoWorks for Network Monitoring is required
- Experience with Remedy or Peregrine ticketing systems is a plus.
An active CCNA Certification (or higher) is highly preferred
