Medical Collector:
The collections efforts on outstanding healthcare accounts which includes; telephone contact with commercial and government (medicare and medicaid)payers, patients and parents, work collection reports and correspondence, audit accounts, appeal denied claims as necessary, update accounts as necessary, identify carrier related denial trends and meet departmental productivity standards
The medical collector will consistently follow-up on outstanding accounts by working collection reports and correspondence. The collector will summarizes outstanding accounts not worked within the department’s guidelines.
The medical collector will look at the denial report and Identify specific denials posted from EOB’s received.
The medical collector will also look at the residual report, Identifing balances remaining after payer has made a payment.
Medical Collector Job Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in a medical collections role
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and others
- Ability to obtain information and accurately enter it into computer
- Pleasant personality
- Fluent in English, multilingual preferred
- Ability to function successfully under stressful conditions
- Excellent data entry skills
